Celebrating Black History

Looking through some old pictures today, I came across this photo of me at the famous Muscle Shoals Studios in Alabama. So much of the music I love was recorded in this part of Alabama. The sound of these recordings represents the truest and most beautiful essence of rock and soul music.
The recordings are free to breathe, and sound unfettered from the fast paced action of New York or the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles. Some of the artists that recorded in this studio are:

Aretha Franklin
The Staple Singers
Millie Jackson
Bobby Womack
Albert King
Little Richard
Isaac Hayes
William Bell

not to mention....The Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Traffic, Cat Stevens and Jerry Lee Lewis.

I urge you to check out some of these artists and their Muscle Shoals recordings.
